The Guardian features Barbican Press

DDJohnston1D.D.Johnston, in this fine Albert Camus shot by Lucy Tyler, heads A FEATURE IN THE GUARDIAN on creative writing courses.  D.D. himself teaches at the University of Gloucestershire. It’s true, his The Deconstruction of Professor Thrub did kick Barbican Press into being. The novel is wildly original, with breathtaking scenes and ideas. D.D. wilfully resisted all commercial compromise – which is exactly the sort of book we aim to bring out.

Look out for D.D.’s THE SECRET BABY ROOM next summer … more obviously commercial than Thrub, and still wildly good.
